It was the day before Christmas and Santa was ill.
再过一天就是圣诞节了，可圣诞老人却病了。
In the cold winter wind he had caught a bad chill.
原来是冬天里一阵寒风让他得了感冒。
Will Christmas be cancelled?
圣诞节会取消？
Will it come to that?
真的会这样吗？
“Never!” cried Santa. “Let’s call Pete the Cat!”
“绝对不会！”圣诞老人嚷道“让我给皮特猫打个电话！”
Santa asked Pete to deliver the toys to all the good girls and to all the good boys.
圣诞老人让皮特猫带玩具给所有可爱懂事的女孩们和乖巧的男孩们。
“I’ll do it!” said Pete.
“我会做到的！”皮特说。
“And although I am small, at Christmas we give, so I’ll give it my all.”
“虽然我很小，但在圣诞节，我也会献出我的全部的。”

Pete jumped in his minibus and started to roll.
皮特跳上了他的迷你巴士，然后出发了。
“Fivst stop -the North pole.”
“公路旅行出发！”皮特喊道“第一站，北极。”
The reindeer were waiting to give Pete a tow,
驯鹿正在等着帮皮特拉礼物，
So he packed up the presents and told them to go.
所以皮特打包了这些礼物后，就立马告诉了他们要把礼物运到哪里。
The minibus flew, just like in a movie.
这个迷你巴士飞得好快，电影里的画面成真了。
Pete the Cat cried, “This is totally groovy!”
皮特猫叫道“这真是太棒了！”
“I can do it!”Said Pete,
“我可以做到！”皮特说。
“and although I am small, at Christmas we give, so I’ll give it my all.”
“虽然我人很小，但是在圣诞节来临之际，我会尽心尽力的。”

All the children were sleeping all snug in their beds,
孩子们舒舒服服地躺在床上睡觉的时候，
Pete and his reindeer appeared overhead.
皮特和他的驯鹿们从屋顶上飞过去了。
Straight down the chimney Pete flew in a dash, then back in his minibus quick as a flash.
皮特会拿着礼物以迅速的从烟囱口爬进去，在放好礼物后，又迅速地爬出烟囱，回到他的迷你汽车里。
Each time he delivered a holiday gift, he crossed off a name written on Santa’s list.
每当皮特送完一件礼物，他就在圣诞老人给他的清单上划一下。
Santa’s list was so big, and Pete felt so small.
圣诞老人的名单好长好长，皮特觉得自己很渺小。
But at Christmas we give, so he gave it his all.
“但是圣诞节的时候我们会互相给予，所以他会尽力的。”

At the very last minute they reached the last house.
在圣诞节到来的最后一刻，皮特终于赶到了最后一家。
Pete dashed in and out just as quiet as a mouse.
皮特进进出出比小老鼠还安静。
Then right at the break of the new Christmas Day，
Pete and his reindeer were flying away.
正好在圣诞节的钟声敲响的那一刻，皮特和他的驯鹿往回飞了。
Back at the North Pole, old Santa was waiting.
回到北极的时候，圣诞老人正在等他。
The elves and the townsfolk were all celebrating.
精灵和居民们都在庆祝。
Santa was dressed in his red coat and hat and cried，
“Hip hip hooray for our friend Pete the Cat.”
圣诞老人穿着红色的大衣和他的红帽子，叫道：“为我们的皮特猫大声呼喊万岁。”
“I did it!”Said Pete. “And although I am small, in the spirit of Christmas I gave it my all!”
“我做到了！”
皮特说道“虽然我人很小，但在圣诞节精神下，我尽心尽力了。”
